Fooey On You All! >:P

07-24-01 @ 4:11 am EDT

I'm jealous. I wish some anonymous person would grace my presence with points or an upgrade like everyone seems to be cheering about around here lately. Oh well. I wouldn't know what to do with the points and an upgrade only lasts so long before you have to pay for it yourself, or it runs out.

I truly do wonder how they are noticed and chosen, though...I'm thankful I have at least received some attention, though you can't blame me for wishing for more. ^_^ Particularly for my stories...I'd like to have an audience for Manitou Island, but I think all of three people are reading it...OFFSITE. The first few parts were enjoyed by at least one or two people around here, but nobody notices it anymore, or wishes to read something so long and involving.

*sigh*

I have to confess that I too have problems reading long things. It's even worse if it's poorly formatted. If there are not breaks between the paragraphs, I CANNOT follow it. I have to just click on Back and get away from there. I need a bit of structure and coherency (word??) to a story before I can read it. Picky of me, yes, but as a reader I'm allowed to be picky.

I prefer fantasy-type things with very well-developed characters. Character is even more important than plot, IMO. I had a poll that said most people answering agreed with me until some others came along and changed the vote. ;P Fooey on you. (Ouch, this papercut hurts! Papercuts suck buttermilk.)

There was an author around here who started what, to me, seemed as if it would end up to be a GREAT story! It was about ancient Egypt and has a god's name in the title: Set's Revenge

You see, MOST stories dealing with ancient Egypt are based on The Mummy and thus have these stock characters created for the movie in them, or else the people writing have NO understanding whatsoever of actual Egyptian mythology and ancient life, or their writing skills are just plain poor. (I came upon a story on another site--read it anyway since there's so little fiction on this topic--about Isis and Osiris and Isis was calling her sister Nephthys a "dork" or something for hanging out with Osiris--sheesh...)

But anyway...I left a review and a comment saying to keep it up--"I think we need more fiction about this subject!"--but haven't heard back (well, not that I'm very good at getting back to people either!!)--but even worse--they do not appear to be coming back!! They have only two items, neither updated since the 13th. OOOHHHHHH!! Why do the ones I'm REALLY interested in NEVER COME BACK??

WAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!

Hm; didn't I have something else I wanted to say?

Well, whatever it may have been, I can't remember it.

Here is a nice poem:

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Humma humma humma
Inky-dinky parlez vous

I need my site back. :(

I am yesterday; I know tomorrow.
