I went temporarily insane again and re-added some more interests to my Yahoo! profile. Supposedly they get you invites to Clubs. I don't end up joining most of the Clubs I'm invited to as they're bizarre and I have NO idea why they thought I'd be interested, but sometimes a rare gem shines through. I've gotten a few more invites recently and I believe I joined one, am thinking of joining another. But last night I got THE weirdest one yet.

This time, I was invited to "Gothette Babes Of Michigan."

WHY do people keep thinking I'm a Goth??

Knowing I wasn't going to join, I checked it out anyway. Only one member, the founder themselves. The main page has a nice little manifesto about how ONLY females are allowed, NO males, and how gays and bisexuals and swingers aren't endorsed in this Club.

I thought that was kind of snotty--as if the clubmaster had something against them?--but did a bit more looking around. And...

The creator of the Club is a GUY!

???!!!

ONLY women allowed, and yet a GUY created it? Very strange.

So I went to his profile to look some more.

Only interests listed are Michigan and Big Beautiful Women. Nothing too bad about that. Losing interest, I decided to see what the other Goth Clubs were like, possibly to figure out why people keep thinking I'M one!

Most of them just look like ways to find easy sex. Blech, pathetic. But wouldn't you know it? I found another Club just for Goths in Michigan!

Not a Goth Club per se--but for singles--and created by Cen himself. But wasn't this nice? This is for the heterosexual lifestyle and not for swingers or other alternative lifestyles as they are all un-natural. What a nice guy. I was disliking him more every minute.

That's, four Clubs so far founded by this guy, looking for singles to meet. I decided to check some more. There's a "Founder's Homepage" link on lots of Clubs so I checked that one out.

Ya know what? That's another one I missed. Huh, I must not have been paying much attention. Again he emphasized heterosexual relationships and how Biblical and correct they are, as if desperately seeking Goth women on the Internet is somehow endorsed by the Bible...hm...moving on...

I seem to remember ANOTHER one, but I can't seem to locate it...OH, that's right, that's the one I named above, In Search Of My Gothic Girl. Here he has a photo of himself (I assume) on the main page, and the Club "welcome" reads like a personal ad:

Nice to know he seems to be ALMOST pro-equality when it comes to his perfect Goth girl, just so long as she's not black or bi!

Soooo, after all of this, I'm left with an icky feeling in the pit of my stomach. Look at that. This poor guy created, what, SIX Clubs, just to look for single Goth chicks. Eegh. Did you know that neither Michigan nor Gothic is listed as an interest on my profile? So no bot could have been used, and the interests invite function couldn't have been used. Plus, it says right on my profile "I AM NOT INTERESTED IN AN ONLINE RELATIONSHIP." So, how did this guy come across mine and select me for invitation? Did he just go by Member Directory locations and ages? Hey, I'm single, female, young, and I think I'm listed as being in Michigan. (Though not from HIS particular area. I guess he hoped he'd luck out, four out of five ain't bad.) I suppose that was good enough for him, right?

What if I were--*gasp*shudder*--LESBIAN?? Can't really tell that from my profile. Neither can you say that I'm a GOTH!!

So...apparently, the indiscriminate seeking of a young attractive female, MANY young attractive females, on the Internet for a spur-of-the-moment relationship is okay, but a loving stable gay relationship is not...mm-hm...oh, and make sure you're white/Asian/Hispanic/Indian/Middle Eastern/but not black if you're interested in this guy.

Oh yes. And you must not in any manner be gay.

Yep, I'm feeling unbelievably icky right now.
