Revamp

I'm working on revamping Tehuti's Per On The Web.

http://www.geocities.com/tehuti_88/

It's hopelessly out of date over there. I lost track of how to format everything and I'm very anal. All the pages are different and it's tiring. Plus, all the best sites I'm linked to keep disappearing. First Argotique Graphics, which had the most GORGEOUS Egyptian clipart. (That boat image on the main page is from their site, as is the main page background with the hawk.) Where did they go? They just vanished. I wish I would have saved all their beautiful graphics. <:( Then Ancient Egypt: The Mythology disappeared; something about the webmaster not paying their bill or something. Well, why didn't they just pay it then? That was one of the most comprehensive sites, and then bam, it's gone, no explanation. And THEN the Encyclopedia Mythica disappeared! That was a huge site as well--where do they all go?? Why isn't there at least an explanation? I'm pissed off because those were the best sites.

Anyway...I have a lot of links to update...a few new ones...plus I'm just going to make all the pages on the site the same; bland but easy to update, like Manitou Island. Take a peek at the difference between two sample pages here, two different chapters of Horus--an old one, and an updated one with my new color scheme:

What do you think? It took me forever to get that shade of green just right. Plus now I can use overlapping graphics to put the divider bars in over the textboxes; before I had to use several textboxes with bars in between, and big hunks of text kept disappearing for some bizarre reason, it was awful...

Anyway.

After a day of the silent treatment Dad went to bed without saying goodnight, again, but then came back out and did so, and said that if we got a cat I'd have to promise to clean up after it immediately after every mess. I did so and I guess it's one more fight over, goodie, I get to sit and wait for the NEXT one to blow up. Do you know what? If he had merely said in a stern voice, in the FIRST place, "You'll have to promise to clean up after a new cat," I WOULD have promised. Right then and there.

Why the need to start a fight and give the cold shoulder for two days?

I don't know. That's the way Dad is I guess.

Ma saw a picture of a black and white male kitten in the newspaper, "Domino," the Pet of the Week or something. "Wouldn't HE make the perfect pet??" she gushed. "Five-month-old kitten!"

"I'm a bit leery of males," I said. "They pee on things. It's a guy thing, I guess."

I don't know. We'll have to see.

And...we successfully transferred a thing called a "ScreenMate" from the used computer to this one, so now when we click on the shortcut a little black and white cat goes walking across the screen, rubbing the monitor's side, staring at fish, crawling through disappearing kitty doors, etc. He's cute.

I am yesterday; I know tomorrow.
