"Untitled": A short story (scene) about a past life of Cosmas (Lilu) and Damian (Damien). Would depict their martyrdom, and we'd learn that their executioner is somebody they know from their present lives, but who, I can't say...just a snippet thingie.

"A Crack Of Light": A short story or novella, with Kristeva remembering his childhood abuse. I'm currently working on this, it's about 36kbs so far, but not finished...

"Random Scene 4": A short story (scene), a followup to "Random Scene 3" with a calmer Brooks explaining to Kristeva and Devetko what happened. Kind of iffy as he has to go into more detail than he did in the first scene, and potentially boring, as that's all they would do is talk some more; not sure if I'll do this yet or not.

"Untitled 2": A short story or novella about how Lucifer (Damien's father) and Lilith (mother) met. I already have a version written but it's decidedly...*coughcough*...inappropriate for my portfolio or for public, PG-13 display. o_o **toomuchinformation** So I'd have to think of a tamer version. Might be hard to make a story out of this though, but I could always try. Aww. Cult love!

"Untitled 3": A short story or novella about Mark Kincaid's involvement with the Four P Movement, Alan Kincaid's entry into the picture, and what exactly resulted in Mark's suicide. (No, it does NOT go the way it's described in Minot, those guys were completely wrong! ^_^ ) This is a TAD iffy (Kinnie underwent some sick things, and Mark's involvement in the matter isn't exactly squeaky clean) but I'm more concerned about the format. It wouldn't contribute to an easy story. The whole thing hinges on Mark's fling with a strange woman and I don't think I could write THAT! (Her messing with his mind? Yes, I could easily write that. It's the OTHER part that bugs me!!)

I'd love to try out more Damien stories but my mind's currently drawing a blank so I must move on.

THE TRENCH RATS

"Tough Love": A novella about the relationship between Silver and Reseda. Originally this was to be part of the Trench Rats serial, but I've gotten impatient and started writing it as a separate novella. A little bit through now, but not much, and still not to any interesting parts; we'll see. Awkard for me to write, considering there are going to be at least some HINTS about intimacy in there somewheres...

HORUS

"Sobek & Hathor" (possible retitle--maybe "Heart Of Clay"?): A novella, an original myth about how the goddess Hathor cons her way out of marrying Sobek. This has already been written but needs rewriting; that's already started, but I've currently misplaced it somewhere...

"Sovereignty": A short story, a retelling of how Ra rebels against his mother Neith, resulting in the "birth" of Hu and Saa (sic?). This is already written but needs rewriting; it's kind of iffy subject matter (self-mutilation to be exact) so I'm not sure how I'd pull it off. Kinda weird story. Dunno what I was thinking when I wrote it.

"I Shot An Arrow Into The Air...": A short story, an original myth about what happens when Khenti Amenti makes off with Hathor's magic arrows. This is already written but needs rewriting. Rather silly and goofy, a "fluff" piece.

"The Price Of Forgetfulness": A short story or novella, an original myth about a mortal named Asutet and how the river god Hapi helps her get back at her cruel master. This is already written but needs revising. Kind of touchy subject matter in an attempted sexual assault, but I wrote this thing in high school, I guess it was tame enough then...

"Sakhmet & Ptah" (possible retitle--any ideas??--maybe "For Love Of The Moon"?--*gag*): A short story, an original myth about how the goddess of war falls in love with the god of the moon. Seems this one would turn out short, so maybe I should write it soon. A sappy piece, I bet.

"Nemesis & Anubis" (possible retitle): A short story or novella, an original myth about what happens when the goddess of fate is both spurned and used for someone else's purposes. This may need MAJOR reworking according to changes in my plotlines. I don't even know if Nemesis appears as one of my characters anymore.

"Apophis's Day On Earth": A short story or novella, an original myth about the demon Apophis being granted human form for a day to go out into the world, and what troubles result--for both him and those he meets. REALLY iffy subject matter, since **SPOILER**SPOILER**READNOFURTHER** he ends up beating and raping Maftet. Not sure how I would pull that one off tactfully. At least he would get what's coming to him in the end...interesting story with some character development, but difficult.

"Upuat's Escape"--currently titled "Escape": A short story or novella, an original myth about Upuat's escape from the goddess Seii, and the immediate aftermath among the other gods. Kind of iffy subject matter concerning what Upuat went through (let's just say he was a "toy"), but I'm currently working on it, have about 20-something kbs...

"The First Priestess Of Upuat": A short story or novella, an original myth about how Upuat gains his first devotees. Very iffy and difficult since it concerns a rape; not sure how I'd do this one and make Upuat sympathetic. Have to think about it.

"Young Hathor" (possible retitle): A short story, an original myth about the young goddess Hathor and her discovery of how love works. Bound to be kinda funny a la "Sobek & Hathor," considering.

"Hathor & Horus" (possible retitle): A short story, an original myth about how Hathor (accidentally) falls in love with Horus. Seems like an easy one to write, so I might do it soon. Might be a bit sappy.

"Geb's Revolt" (possible retitle): A short story or novella, a retelling of how Geb revolts against his brother Shu and...um...does something to Tefnut that no brother should do. o_O Iffy subject matter, of course, and VERY contrary to how I've depicted Geb so far; also, in the original, Tefnut is his mother and not his sister, so part of the meaning is lost, SO perhaps I should change the female character to someone else?...but this is an actual myth, and it sounds SO juicy I'd love to take a stab at it...! I'll have to see.

"Geb & Osiris" (possible retitle): A short story, a retelling of how Geb killed his own son Osiris!! This is based on an actual myth and isn't even hinted at in my novel Osiris, but it sounds so good with the potential for character development that I think I'll go for it. Sometime.

"Sokar & Selket" (possible retitle): A short story or novella (probably the latter), an original myth about the love affair between Sokar and Selket, and what (more like who) exactly brought them together. Iffy subject, with stalking, kidnapping, and attempted rape; not as bad as some of the others though...maybe...I don't know.

"Horus's Wives" (possible retitle): A short story, a retelling about discord among Horus's wives. Now, in my fiction, Horus has only ONE wife, the ever-jealous Hathor. Perhaps I could get her to settle for some concubines or servant girls though; he doesn't HAVE to sleep with them! In any case they get all squabbly and one dares to put herself above Hathor so watch out...

"Horus & The Fish Of Ra" (possible retitle): A short story, a retelling of how young Horus kills the sacred fish of Ra--yet gets away with it. This didn't happen in my storyline so either it's an alternate reality or Imseti (Horus's precocious son) will do it instead. IF I write it. Kinda funny, but sounds boring.

"The Trial Of Horus & Set": A novella, a retelling of the arduous case of Horus vs. Set before the tribunal of the gods. I would REALLY love to do this baby, but it would have to be modified, since Horus is already king; the way I see it, it's after he's become king, and after Set has been released from his banishment; he gets all uppity and they go to court. All sorts of insanity ensues. This has the potential to be funny, IMO, but it would also be time consuming. I'll have to see.

"The Daughter Of Osiris": A short story or novella, an original myth about the daughter of Osiris. This would most likely be an alternate reality thing, even though in the mythology, according to one source Osiris DID have a daughter. I have no idea what it would be about, though, so this might be scrapped.

"Khnum & Sati" (possible retitle): A short story or novella, an original myth about how the lowly god Khnum courts the regal Sati. Potential sap here! Sounds boring, but Khnum might be pathetic enough to be interesting...

"Maahes & Nephthys" (possible retitle): A short story, an original myth about how the god Maahes falls in love with Nephthys--who of course is the wife of the INCREDIBLY jealous Set! Iffy--another attempted rape (what is it with these guys??)--but who knows, maybe someday. Doesn't seem like enough to sustain a story though.

"Khenti Amenti & Kebehut" (possible retitle): A short story, an original myth about Khenti Amenti falling in love with Kebehut. Bla bla, sounds really dull and will probably never be written, especially since Anubis makes sure nothing comes of it anyway. Poor Khenti.

"Upuat & Maat" (possible retitle--"Capture"?--blech): A short story or novella, an original myth about how Upuat and Maat (wife of Thoth, Seii's archenemy) are recaptured by Seii, and how they escape again. A bit iffy, since Seii expects Upuat to assault Maat (and he pretends to, in order to gain freedom), but not any worse than my other stuff...who knows.

"Antakh's Revolt" (possible retitle): A novella about how the Apsiu Moru Antakh was raised among humans, and then masquerades as a Kana to set the Moru free. I actually wrote this story in college, but it's currently lost; I remember it being pretty icky anyway so a rewrite from scratch probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Would take a lot of work, so may have to wait quite a while.

"Surrender" (possible retitle): A short story about the defeat of the Apsiu army, post-Horus. This would just be a short story taking place immediately after the defeat of Set's army, yet RIGHT before the final scene in Horus when he leads the exiles away to the desert. We'd get to find out which Kana decided to take the new king up on his offer of mercy and join his own army. Djeretu--a favored Kana character of mine--would be introduced here. I have no idea whether I should ever write a story about how a human woman falls in love with him. That might be WAY too iffy!! o_O

MANITOU ISLAND

A long, LONG time ago I wrote a slew of short stories set on Manitou Island, as I back then saw it. (Long story short: No Tal Natha, no Charmian or Drake, no Red Bird or Pakwa or Francois etc.) A while after that I started another series of short stories. (Red Bird and Pakwa finally showed up, but still no Tal Natha. He's unusually recent.) What of these stories? I have NO IDEA where they are; I dumped 'em upstairs somewhere, and it's a MESS up there. Plus the second batch of stories, written on loose-leaf papers, was hopelessly scattered. Many of them were little "explanation" stories anyway--things similar to how crows got their black feathers, why trees change in autumn, junk like that. I can't even remember the specifics, just that a squirrel figured in there somewheres, and he really pissed Ocryx off. Har. Maybe it's best that these things are lost.

However, there were also some background info stories, such as what Stick-In-The-Dirt had to do with Ocryx and the manitous' release into Devil's Lake, the birth of X'aaru (back then "X"), the birth of Red Bird, where the GeeBees came from, etc., and those are all lost as well. Sometimes I get kind of sick writing about Manitou Island :) considering I have to have a part out a week, so any sidestories might wait a LONG time, but they're there for me to fiddle with...maybe a short story will work its way along sometime...I was thinking that a love story about how Tal Natha and Red Bird met would be cute, but you already have to deal with the fact that there's this kind of interspecies, human/demon, half-brother/half-sister thing going on...not sure if anybody reading the story has even noticed that, or if they're just too polite to mention it... o_O

Well, these are the things Tehuti's currently got floating around in her mind. Give her some time to come up with yet more!!
