I decided to make two of my other Yahoo! IDs moderators at the Egyptian mythology Group, so I wouldn't have to log out and log in under tehuti_88 to deny the stupid Spammers who still keep applying. (TWO of them have tried so far today, and it isn't even NOON yet!) I fiddled around with the settings on my social_phobe account first to make sure I wouldn't screw it up, then decided to join d4d_archive as well since they're the accounts I use most.

That was when I noticed that as the owner of the Group, I have both the ability to grant privileges to moderators...AND to take them away! Including the ability to APPROVE PENDING MEMBERS!

I finished signing up and turning my other two accounts into mods, giving them full privileges except to delete the Group, then went to change the settings for the other moderator. She had it set to notify her of pending members, but NOT to notify her of unsubbing members--oh, how thoughtful!--plus she has her e-mail set to None. Not even special notices, the stupid b***h. (I'm not in as lousy a mood today so I'll use asterisks.) So I went through and changed her settings. She will NOT receive notices of pending members, so she doesn't have to worry her pretty little head off! She also no longer has the ability to approve, remove, or ban members, or to change the Group settings, or to change moderator privileges. Meaning, she's still pretty much a moderator by title, and has a little yellow star next to her name, but in function, all she can do now is invite/add members (hopefully NOT the same as approve pending Spammers), approve pending messages (of which there ARE none!), and "Set auto-send options for files," whatever that means...which is useless anyway.

MEANING, since she no longer cared to be an actual moderator for the Group, well, she will no longer have the privileges of a moderator. Take THAT, stupid bimbo.

I was kind of toying with the petty idea of leaving her settings to receive notices of pending members--that way she'd step in to approve them and notice she no longer had that ability, ha ha!--but decided against it. As much as I want her to know how little I trust her or rely on her as a cofounder now, I'm still against ugly confrontation. She won't be getting the notices, so there should be no reason for her to stop by the Group and check unless she's interested. WHICH she's proven she's not.

So hopefully, that will be an end to my Spammer troubles. I can let them sit and pend all I like...CROSS FINGERS!...and the only person who can let them in is me. HA!
