Should Arch Rock Die?

01-04-03 @ 11:21 am EST

I've been seriously considering deleting all my poetry and lyrics from this site. My criteria for what goes and what stays here has ("have," I know, but "has" sounds better) long been determined by what exactly I WANT feedback on, and my poetry and songs, well...I know they're not good, hence I don't care for feedback on them. Despite having 50+ poems in my port, and twenty songs, I don't in the least consider myself a poet nor a lyricist.

Add to that the fact that I rarely ever update them at all (I think I've added/written TWO poems in the past year, and NO songs!), and people don't much look at them even when they ARE updated. Plus poetry is a very subjective thing and one can never really tell if something is good or bad because everybody will think differently; whereas with prose, it's a little easier to tell, because you at least have a format you have to follow. I know my poems are hack work. Deleting all of them and my songs, plus their folders, would free up 83 spots, I think, in my port. 83 spots I could dedicate to my Lover's Leap folder, since I've neglected it, being too afraid to clutter the place up before the arrival of Return To Manitou Island. (Which will be God knows how long.) I currently have over 300 items I could put in the LL folder, I believe. (Isn't that sickening? I guess you know now. I'm repressed.)

Not that anybody would care to, but if anybody did want to look at my rhymes, they could always just go to the D4D Archive linked to on my bio anyway, since everything is there, including most of what I've deleted from here already--unfinished novels and all.

So Reader, what do you think? Should Arch Rock just die already?

I'm still reluctant but I'm strongly leaning toward total deletion. I'll have to see. *bites thumbnail indecisively*
