ROCKY IS MINE! MIIIIIINNNNE! Bwa-ha-ha!

03-15-03 @ 10:50 am EST

Notes taken on the morning of 3/15/03:

7:00: Just remembered a dream I had after all. It was kind of disturbing. Taking note of it and also finishing yesterday's entry in my journal.

7:10: Finished...I think I may copy them to DJ now. I kind of wish my DJ was separated into pages as it has over 500 entries and the page is so long. :/

7:30: All right, I instead spent all that time posting a suggestion on Writing.com to change journal entry sorting options! I'm getting around to it...

7:35: Bathroom break. Just realized my sleeping pills are missing along with my new comp book. I have looked high and low but they're nowhere to be found. Ma must have put them somewhere, but where? Going to post my dreams now.

8:15: SQUIRREL IS MINE!!! I GOT HIM I GOT HIM HE'S MINE MINE MIIIINNNNNE! He's so CUTE!! Awwwww!! Kitty is MAD! I will name him Rocky. *LMAO*

9:40: MY STUPID COMPOSITION BOOK IS NOT HERE! This infuriates me as we keep "losing" groceries between here and Glen's, and now between here and Wal-Mart. It's even on the receipt which means we PAID for it and I SAW it at the checkout, but it's gone. I found my sleeping pills but not the book. Ma said it's not in her trunk. I am going to have her take that receipt and go back and get me ANOTHER one which we had better not have to pay for! Yes, it's only 97 cents, but this is beyond stupid how things just keep VANISHING! Anyway...*sigh*...I was in the process of posting my dreams at DJ when the cat kept bothering me so I went over to look once more and...there was a teeny gray furball behind the chest. Gah! The squirrel! I locked kitty up and tried to flush the rodent out but it would not budge, no matter how much I poked it. I tried to move the chest but Ma has it so loaded down with magazines that it's practically immobile! Ma awoke around 7:45 to go to the bathroom and I was trying to get this thing out. I finally managed to pull the chest out a tad but the squirrel moved again. Pulled on it more and it finally popped out by the side. I cooed at it and tried to flush it in the right direction. It jumped up atop the chest and when I poked at it it FLEW up the wall and then scurried down into the living room. I followed it across the rug and it jumped onto the footstool, then into the side window. I followed it and tried to shoo it into Katchoo's old carrier but it went over toward the encyclopedias! I followed it and it then CLIMBED UP THE TAPESTRY and jumped onto the curtain top!! (The curtains have a box top.) Ma got up again now and I proceeded to chase the little booger back and forth, back and forth with a yardstick, but he would not jump down to the door. Ma joined me and I finally got him down onto the drapes and clamped the carrier over him--but when I tried to move it he got out again and back to the top of the curtains he went. GGRRR!! We finally shooed him back toward the tapestry and as he made his way down it (he kept looking at me like he wanted to jump on me--and when did I switch from "it" to "he"??) I clamped the carrier over him again. Ma got a magazine and I slipped it under to trap him and HE WAS MINE! The tapestry then fell down. >_< But I got the lid and put it on and had my very own pet flying squirrel. AWWWWWW!! I carefully put in some sunflower seeds with a glove on as he was feisty, then proceeded to let the cat out and take a slew of pictures. He was SO cute! He kept climbing around like a little monkey! Then he settled down to eat...AAWWWWW!! The cat was very flustered by all this and I had to keep nudging him away when he got too nosy. Ma and I sat and watched the biography of Tracy Gold and then of Mackenzie Philips (or however you spell it, sorry) and I had another picante V8...*ugh* I didn't eat a breakfast like I normally do as I do not feel like cereal or pizza rolls. And all that activity got me feeling weak and shaky. I had to stand on a rocking chair while chasing the little runt, and I am TERRIFIED of heights (I know it's just a chair, but when it's MOVING...!), so I'm all shaky. I contemplated keeping the little guy in Katchoo's old cage at least for a few days, but my parents would kill me, and it would have been cruel...I could tell he was getting depressed being locked in that little carrier. When Dad got up to go to the bathroom he asked me how I was going to water him without him escaping. (The previous night he told me that he heard they drink about twice as much as a human does, compared to body mass or something, every day.) I told him I didn't intend to keep it THAT long. Though I was tempted. :/ *sigh* Took more pics and finally got dressed to carry him away. I went over to the plantation and the snow was a TAD bit deeper than I judged it to be... >_< So here I am tramping through snow up to my knees toward this pine tree, and I open the container to let the little squirt go, and...he starts CLIMBING UP MY HAND!! "Go the OTHER way!" I grumble and nudge him. He turns and wiggles his butt and FLOOM!--there he goes, jumping into the tree and scurrying from branch to branch. Bye-bye, Rocky. I turned back just as two motorists decided to pass, catching me in the act...AGH!! How come they ALWAYS show up when I decide to trespass? Now they'll probably think I was releasing hamsters or rats into the wild or something, as I was still carrying the little container. I tried to look nonchalant, but it was NOT my property. Ugh. I made my way back into the house and changed and my ankles were RED! I hadn't been out there that long, but it felt like the skin had been scraped raw. UGH. Kitty commenced sniffing the container like crazy and I put some more seed outside for the chickadees, which distracted him temporarily. Ma got ready to go to work and as she left I found out I am sans a composition book. DAMN IT! Anyway that was my morning, and I'm going to go online now if possible.

10:25: Uploaded a few pics of the little guy to Writing.com; watch somebody come along and rate them poorly! >:P Will post a journal entry containing the text of the above also. Tar.
