All Right, Normal Entry: Question For Y'all

04-05-03 @ 7:04 am EST

I've been wondering lately if I should get rid of my erotica except for all the Ameni Chronicles stuff. When I posted it as Shywriter, and when I first started posting it as Tehuti, it had lots of readers and reviewers...but I have not felt like posting the rest of the several hundred-odd stories I have left as most of those I posted last were barely noticed even by the erotica readers (none of whom are reading the Chronicles themselves--I don't really get it, but nobody is much interested in my yaoi; can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, if anything).

But anyway, since I have so many unrelated erotica stories, I'm just considering deleting the whole mess. Keeping the Shywriter folder, maybe, in which to put the Chronicles and MAYBE the nonconsensual scenes (only because writing them is a therapeutic type of fantasy or something...I really would NOT like that stuff to happen in real life, but maybe writing about it is a way to confront my fear of it happening? I don't know, I never said I understood it). But getting rid of the rest. MAYBE I would keep a few that I like...I'm not sure what those would be. I hate deleting things with lots of ratings on them, like my earliest pieces from my Shywriter account, but nobody really checks them out anymore, even though they're set to public. (I'm betting most of my views on the Chronicles, which are HIGHLY viewed but never R&R'ed except by one reader, are viewed by offsite users, not members.) I've been told that this writing of mine is okay to good, but the interest is not there anymore, and I don't want to continue to clutter up my account with items that next to nobody wants to read.

(The exception being the Chronicles because I just love writing them and keep hoping that maybe a yaoi reader will show up SOMEDAY. :) )

SO...if you see this entry, please take at least a peek, or if you've seen it all before, let me know what you think. Should the bulk of Shywriter go? Or stay? I wish I could quit waffling, and I get the feeling that nobody will respond to this (when I asked about my poetry nobody responded, even though people viewed the entry :/ ). Maybe I should post a poll, though I have little luck with getting people interested in those, either. Humm.

Well, just asking for advice. And not along the lines of "Do whatever you want to do," as I really don't KNOW what I want to do, at the moment. (I'll probably make my mind up sometime, but I'm waffling right now.) Perhaps place yourself in my shoes, and let me know what YOU would do? Would you continue posting items if you knew almost for certain that no one was going to read or comment on them? Keep in mind I am a premium member with 1000 item slots, of which 525 are currently in use, and there are still 200-300 erotica items not posted, I think. (Probably not that many, but around there.)

Here's the link if you need it to decide.

I think maybe I WILL post a poll. The thing that bothers me is I have to choose an answer on it myself or it won't show in the listings, and that of course skews the results as I don't know which choice I want to make. For now I guess I'll choose "Don't continue," but that's only because I don't like to post things if nobody is reading them. That could always change in the future, though I have not posted any new erotica items in months precisely because of this.

Well, I wanted to post some more, but I better keep it to one topic to link it in the poll. Please reply to this entry, or to the poll, and thank you!

Edited to add: Link to the poll--if you don't want to reply to this entry, then please vote instead. Thanks...
