2003-04-15 - 7:00 a.m.
SPRING! :D POP! :O 04-15-03 @ 7:00 am EDT Spring officially (IMO) arrived yesterday, but I missed it because I was cooped up inside. This morning while I was on the computer it THUNDERED outside! :D If that's not a sign of spring FINALLY being here, I don't know what is! It didn't storm or anything, and the thunder was just a little bit, far away. I went to my room and opened my window. The air outside is cool but has the "spring smell" to it and a trace of summer in it. It's hard to believe that only a little over a week ago, the Friday before last, it was storming awfully and we could barely make it to town to go shopping. I wonder if there are hills of snow left anywhere after yesterday's heat wave? I would so love to leave a window open just to smell that air...I want so badly to go WALKING all over the place, but I'm too uncomfortable right now, I haven't the time in the mornings at the present, and I have nowhere really to walk; I took every path I could find away from this house. :( I walked down the highway, up the highway, down the tracks, and down toward the lake. The only way I haven't really gone is down Galbraith but I KNOW what's down there, and there are snotty kids who live in our neighborhood who laugh at me simply because I'm alive. I would hate my walk to be ruined because of some dipwads like that. (Once when I was riding my admittedly too-small bike--like I can afford another one, or even WANT another one!--two boys also riding bikes stopped and waited for me to pass by again. I noticed that they had put a CONDOM in the middle of the road and were waiting for my reaction. Oh, how juvenile. Did they expect me to give a girly scream and run away from the "germs" or something? OMG! A CONDOM! They must have taken humor lessons from the Academy of Beavis & Butt-Head. I just kind of glanced down at it with my eyes and went on my way without a word. I hope they were disappointed. Morons.) I remember when I biked all the way down one dirt road and came out near the Cracker Barrel and the CEMETERY!! O_O I had had no idea that was where I was going. That took an hour and a half by bike, though, and my maximum on foot, much slower, is two hours...only because I would have to use the bathroom, and there are no rest stops. I could walk longer than two hours, I know it! I LOVE to walk! There's just nowhere left to do so... :( But anyway, sorry about that sidetrack; I would love to leave a window open just to smell the air, but that would make the heater run and I don't want to run up the gas bill... It's supposed to rain later on, which will probably be good. I like it when it rains while I'm sleeping; it's less depressing to know I'm sleeping through a day when I can't go outside, rather than a sunny, wasted day. I have all sorts of thoughts of the forest and island in my head, too. I've decided that this year I would rather go when it's slightly cooler so I can wear my jacket...I won't give my reasoning as it's kind of personal, but I would be a lot more comfortable and could enjoy the trip more. The thing is this means either waiting for a cold snap in the middle of summer--which is unpredictable--or waiting until autumn! I so much want to go somewhere SOON! I'm so bored. I want to walk and take photos of things! And something behind me let out this horrendous POP noise about a half hour ago, and I have no clue what it was. It was rather unnerving. The only thing back there is a bug deterrent thingie which clicks every few seconds in an annoying fashion--it's too slow for me to try to pretend it's just a clock--but I can't think of why that would make such a loud POP (more like a SNAP) unless it was zapping a bug or something. And it's supposed to repel them, not attract them. o_O These things always seem to happen when I'm the only one awake or around. Even the cat missed it this time. *sigh* I'm currently checking out free online books at iUniverse. This is a very odd concept. Apparently the books are available to read in their ENTIRETY, free, online, yet that's considered "browsing" and real hardcopy versions of the books are available for PURCHASE. Aren't these authors losing money by putting the entire text online? I could just print these out on my own if I wanted to...in fact I might, for a few of them. If I get the motivation to print, which I just have not had lately. Bla bla. This entry is already very fragmented so I might as well just continue. I started revising Part 2 of the Chronicles yesterday, and hope to have THAT finished sometime soon. I hope they all go as easily as Part 1 went! Though I doubt it. :/ I'm currently browsing a book about child sexual abuse...sad stories. I feel like writing more but this entry is already crappy enough! >_< I need to learn how to focus. And I nearly did spell that "ficus." Ugh. Tar... (PS--T.--the T. who sent me the gift certificate--if you are still reading this, I have gotten your e-mails, and I do intend to reply, but I've been having trouble getting off my behind and doing so! >_< So you know it's nothing personal, just me.)
