That E-Mail From Me? It's Not From Me.

08-22-03 @ 9:57 am EDT

Gaw. I would like to inform anybody that if they get a funky e-mail from my tehuti_88@2die4.com address, it is not from me, so just delete it. Apparently somebody has gotten the Sobig and it picked up my webmail address because I don't recall opening any funky attachments lately (though my mom could have), and I have certainly NOT used that address to e-mail anybody but one person in the past MONTH. Yet the past two days I have gotten almost a dozen "returned transcripts" and autoreplies informing me that I have a virus. I have yet to do a scan (we don't have antivirus software--just can't afford to keep it updated), but it's likely it's not from our computer. Like I said, we don't open weird attachments. (At least *I* don't! I can't speak for my mother, but she usually only opens photos from family members. I know, those can be viruses in disguise too, but try telling HER that. She NEEDS to see those 1,654,398 almost-identical photos of her grandbaby.)

Anyway. I've been using my social_phobe@yahoo.com address more often lately because, primarily, it does not suck ass like my tehuti_88 account now does. Mail.com has just gone down the drain this year. I just received an e-mail there this morning from somebody who had e-mailed my tehuti_88 account in July asking for the URL of my Chronicles. They never got the reply I sent them a MONTH ago and so tried my other address! It's a good thing I gave it to them else I never would have known they didn't get the URL. I just assumed they didn't like the Chronicles. They STILL might not like them, but Jeez, Mail.com, get on the ball and at least tell me if my f**king mail is going through! It's been like this since FEBRUARY--I can never tell what's coming in and what's going out, when, why, or what! >_<

I haven't gotten any Sobigs at Yahoo! yet, and if I do Yahoo! usually brings up a funny little wormy warning thing when you try to open a virus...at least I think it does. Plus at least it seems to WORK *cross fingers*, unlike ANOTHER mail service, so...

So, if you see a funky tehuti_88@2die4.com message, especially if it has an attachment, just delete it...it wasn't me. If you receive a funky social_phobe@yahoo.com message with an attachment, contact me, because I didn't send that either! But if you receive a regular-looking e-mail from social_phobe, it's probably safe to open it...at least, if you wrote to me first.

People who write viruses should be shot WITH viruses.
