Trying my tentative hand at DA's 100 Picture Challenge...this is the first, in-progress result. It's entitled "First Contact" and represents the theme of "Introduction."

There's actually more to the picture...I cropped off a lot at the top...but it's not inked in. Supposed to be trees and rocks and stuff. I plan to color it in with colored pencils, which are the only medium I have, and I'm not terribly good with them. *sigh*

Then the photo program will just further mangle it. >_<

But anyway...I know their poses are stiff and Stick's head seems kind of big, but this is better than I could have done two months ago. Maybe if I ever do the 100 drawings I'll be good enough to really draw this picture.

I probably won't make it to 100 though.

Not sure if this will post, WDC is suddenly acting up. "Site too busy"? There's only a few hundred people on, they've handled over a thousand before with no trouble. *rolling eyes*

Edit much later because JUST as I decided to post the above, WDC decided to crash: I've finished the rough sketch of the second theme, "Love," and I'm feeling optimistic! :D I wasn't going to give it away but I will. It's Wenonah right after she gave birth to baby Manabozho, right before Chakenapok arrives and kills her. Yesterday (or the day before?--I forget) in preparation I sketched Wenonah and baby 'Bozho just for my own reference because this was the scene I'd planned. I believe it'll be called something like "Just One Moment," as that's about how long Wenonah had with 'Bozho before she died. I can't wait to ink it and show it off too. :D
